MNRR New Haven Line Maintenance Facility Roof Replacement
The purpose of this project was the design of the replacement of roofs for two facilities located on or near the Metro-North Railroad (MNRR) New Haven Main Line: The Maintenance of Way Facility located at East Bridgeport Rail Yard and Maintenance of Way Facility located at Springdale (Stamford).

Garg provided structural design services for this task. The structural design effort for the roof replacement included the preparation of documents required for the replacement of the roofs at the Maintenance of Way facilities. Garg performed the analysis using the data collected from survey, site visits, and field inspections, and the analysis was conducted using loads outlined in the most recent Connecticut State Building Code and State Existing Building Code using Bentley STAAD.Pro software.

Completed Tasks

- Replacement of existing decking and structural repairs or strengthening as needed.
- Any retrofitting of the existing structure required to meet the standards outlined in the current Connecticut State Building Code and State Existing Building Code.
- The replacement of roof decking and repair or strengthening of structural members.
- Removal, reinstallation, and replacement of existing appurtenances located on the roofs, including skylights, HVAC units, antennas, etc.
